Cheap DVD Rental Though Redbox

Family movie night - everyone is in their place on the couch. I in my snuggie and the kids in their matching snuggies. We are all set. I click On Demand and instantly, we are watching "G-Force". (Not my pick). On Demand sure is convenient - but convenience comes at a price. My next month's Comcast bill is $15 extra! How many movies did we watch you ask? Only 3. If I rented a DVD from a Redbox at $1.00 each, we could have watched fifteen movies for that price!

Okay, well there is gas to consider, but if I am at the grocery store, Walmart, McDonalds, or Walgreens anyway and there happens to be a Redbox, then I haven't made an extra trip to go and rent the DVD. I have until 9:00 pm the following day to return the DVD to any Redbox. If I choose to keep it another day, the charge it $1.00. Redbox boasts no late fees, but I consider $1.00 extra per day the same as a late fee or penalty charge for not returning the DVD on time (don't you?) Be that as it may, with over 19,000 locations and 575 million DVD rentals at only $1.00 each, there is a case for using Redbox.

The Redbox new releases for the week of 2/2/2010 are:

"Zombieland
“Amelia”
“Love Happens”
“Planet Hulk”
“Universal Soldier: Regeneration”
“New York, I Love You”
Ong Bak 2: The Beginning”
“Sonic Scream Test V.5”

The Redbox top 10 rentals for the month of January are:

“Surrogates”
“Gamer"
“Saw VI”
“Michael Jackson's This Is It"
“Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs”
“The Hurt Locker ”
Pandorum
“The Hangover”
“Tyler Perry's I Can Do Bad All By Myself"
Inglourious Basterds

The online rental/reserve feature is the best :)

Hey Ann,

Yes, I am impressed at how convenient and inexpensive it is to use Redbox. With locations all over the US, even vacationers can rent DVDs. People may prefer Net Flix because that is cheap, but I prefer to "pay as you go" as far as DVD rental goes.
